When Palmetto State Roofing opened its doors in 1984, the specialty roofing market in South Carolina was underserved. Homeowners who wanted the beauty and longevity of slate, the durability of metal, or the distinctive character of tile had few local options—and even fewer who truly understood these demanding materials.
Our founders saw an opportunity to fill that gap with uncompromising quality. They invested in training, studied under master roofers, and joined the National Slate Association and kept refining their craft. Word spread, and what started as a small operation grew into Columbia's most trusted name in specialty roofing.
